Nicole Perry (she/her(s)) is an intimacy choreographer and coordinator, as well as dance choreographer in South Florida. Career highlights include receiving a Broward County Artist Support Grant for the development of "KINesphere", a site-sensitive dance theatre work, intimacy coordination for Season 3 of "First Wives Club" and for "Arena," a short film that has been an official 2021 selection in several film festivals. Recent credits include choreography and intimacy choreography for the US premiere of The "Glass Piano" at Theatre Lab, "I Hate Hamlet" at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Previously, Nicole was the choreographer for Center City Opera Theater's World Premiere of "The Always Present Present," and the resident choreographer for 2 full seasons at Hedgerow Theatre, including their World Premiere of "An American Tragedy."
Nicole is the founder of Momentum Stage, a non-profit providing affordable resources and professional development in movement practices and consent-based pedagogy for performing artists and teachers. Momentum has delivered Consent for Performers and Power Dynamics in the Rehearsal Room trainings at universities and organizations around the world. Nicole’s writing on these topics can be found in the DanceGeist ezine. Momentum’s Ethics of Teaching with Touch course has also been offered at the Laban Institute for Movement Studies (USA), and the National Dance Education Organization (USA).
Nicole is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst. Her certifying project combined L/BMS and Intimacy Choreography. She teaches Laban intensives regularly for Momentum Stage.
Nicole is a member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the Association of Theatre Movement Educators, and the National Dance Education Organization.
She apprenticed with Intimacy Directors International, and is a certified Intimacy Director, and in the final stage of certification as an Intimacy Coordinator, with IDC.
